Hive mornings are small, timed, and held while the slope is still cool. This is a working yard on private land at 8 HaTamar Street — not a petting farm, not a restaurant, and not a drop-in lookout.
Visiting the apiary
How a morning actually runs
You arrive at the house gate, take a veil from the peg, and walk the short path to the terrace with Yael or Nadav. We open two or three colonies, not a theatrical row. You will see brood, stores, and — if the season is right — a capped super. We talk forage, not folklore.
After the boxes we step down to the wax room for a honey flight: four spoons, four blooms, water on the table. There is no plated meal. If you want coffee in town afterwards, Zikhron is ten minutes down the hill.
Groups are capped at eight adults. Children may attend with a parent; under-twelves stay back from open hives. Closed-toe shoes. No perfume, no dark fluffy fabrics if you can help it, no unannounced extra guests. We cancel in high wind or when a colony is being requeened.
What to bring
- Closed shoes that can take dust and wax drips
- A long-sleeve shirt in a calm colour
- Water; we keep a jug in the wax room
- Curiosity about forage, not a request for medical advice
- The appointment time — the gate is not staffed all day
Known venom allergy: tell us when you book. We are a food farm, not a clinic; we do not provide medical cover.

For people who want the year in spoons without standing over an open box. Citrus, wildflower, thistle, avocado when in jar; forest if the woodland ran. Friday mornings until 12:00.

The ridge as most visitors imagine it: mixed bloom, open shoulder, a generous super if the rain was honest.
Thistle
Gold hillside. We work early. If you come in the afternoon you will meet a closed yard and a polite note on the gate.
Avocado
Western terraces. Short harvest, long flavour. Forest honey is a maybe, never a headline.
